Paper Position of Anti Forest Mafia Coalition in West Sulawesi, Gorontalo and North Maluku

The Anti-Mafia Forest Coalition appreciates the initiative developed by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to conduct supervision and prevention of corruption in the forestry and plantation sectors through the Coordination and Supervision (Korsup) activity scheme. The Coalition assessed the importance of these activities to be a space for civil society to participate in the implementation of the Forestry Coordinating Agency through monitoring and collecting data in the field to be submitted to the KPK. This civil society support aims to strengthen the work of supervision and law enforcement which is still weak internally in local and central government. This position paper was prepared as a result of the supervision of a coalition of civil society in 3 (three) provinces, especially those concerning aspects of permit compliance, state revenue, and social and environmental aspects.
