Publish What You Pay (PWYP) Indonesia attended the Civil 20 Summit in Istanbul Turkey last September 15-16. The forum was attended by hundreds Non-Government Organization’s activist from 52 countries, which focus on 4 main issues: inclusive growth, tax governance and anti corruption, gender equality, and sustainable of energy.

Agung Budiono, Manager Communication and Outreach of PWYP Indonesia, said that this forum aimed to arrange the input for G20 countries leader that attend the high level meeting, next November in Antalya, Turkey.

The drafting process arranged participatory, every participants gives special forum and wall to share their inspirational stories, facts, and strategies to develop the advocation strategy. The communication product given by the head of Civil 20 Turkey, Zeynep Bodur Okyay to several government officials, such as: Prime Minister Mr. Cevdet Yilmaz, Turkey C20 Sherpa Ayse Sinirlioglu, and former Prime Minister Ali Babacan. The government of Turkey apreciate the policy recommendation.

“In global level, there is agreement among G20 countries to share information and data to avoid the criminal proceeds. Thats why this point become important to promote in national level, especially to anticipate the tax crime,” said Agung.

PWYP Indonesia as part of Global Tax Justice Alliance Forum, focused on tax governance issue. According to Agung, the reformation of global tax justice reform become main focus because it became the key to finance the sustainable development, global companies tax reform, and to end the tax heaven, and offshore secrecy to facilitate the capital outflow and hide the proceeds of crime and corruption.
