Priority Agenda 2: Promote improved governance of the mineral and coal sector along the value chain and extraction decision making
The second priority agenda covers aspects of transparency, participation, accountability, inclusiveness, and gender equity in governance in the mineral and coal mining sector, particularly in the parts of licensing/contracting, supervision practices, and socio-environmental standards of mining operations, downstream and increasing added value, taxation and state revenues, reclamation, and post-mining, as well as benefit-sharing and local economic development and mining governance at the national and regional levels.
