JAKARTA. International EITI Board formally sent a letter dated 17 December 2015 to HE Darmin Nasution to officially announce that the suspension status of EITI Indonesia has been lifted. By this gesture, Indonesia again is promoted to become EITI Compliant Country.

15 October 2014:

Indonesia was declared as EITI Compliant Country after publishing the second report covering activities of 2010-2011 fiscal year in the mid of June 2014. EITI requirement 2 on EITI standard states that EITI report must cover data not older than the second to last complete accounting period (Y-2). So for 2012 EITI Indonesia report, the report should be published no later than financial year 2014. Yet for several reasons, until December 2014, Indonesia couldn’t guarantee the drafting of the third report for fiscal year 2012 and 2013.

26 February 2015:

EITI Indonesia status as EITI Compliant Country suspended because Indonesia did not meet deadline for publication of the 2012 EITI Report.

 

23 November 2015:

The process of preparation of the third report (2012-2013) was begin at the end of May 2015 finally completed on 24 October 2015. The third report was officially published by Coordinating Minister of Economic Affairs, HE Darmin Nasution on 23 November 2015.

 

17 December 2015:

After EITI Indonesia Implementing Team -assisted by Independent Administrator successfully demonstrated their commitment to stay involved in the movement of openness/transparency of extractive industries by publishing the third report (fiscal years 2012-2013), then International EITI Board formally sent a letter dated 17 December 2015 to HE Darmin Nasution to announce the lifting of suspended status of EITI Indonesia and promote Indonesia to become EITI Compliant Country again.
