Contextualizing Extractive Industry Data and Information Transparency in the Framework of Just Energy Transition

Publish What You Pay (PWYP) Indonesia collaborates with @kesdm as the Secretariat of EITI Indonesia; Research Center for Politics and Government (PolGov), Department of Politics and Government (DPP) @dppugm Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIPOL), Gajah Mada University (UGM), and Idea and Analytica Indonesia (IDEA) @idea_yogyakarta Yogyakarta to organize Extractive Transparency Day held at FISIPOL UGM.

The series of Extractive Transparency Day starts with the Public Policy Dialogue, Socialization of the Extractive Data Portal, and booth exhibitions that showcase their products and activities related to transparency and accountability issues in the natural resources sector.

On this occasion, PWYP Indonesia specifically oversaw a session themed “Community Engagement in Just Energy Transition through EITI Implementation,” which disseminated a report on the work of a coalition of PWYP Indonesia civil society organizations related to efforts to encourage civil society and local communities, especially those in North Morowali Regency, Central Sulawesi Province located in Central Sulawesi, to have a better understanding of the impact of the energy transition on the extractive sector and their livelihoods, primarily related to local revenues from ongoing and planned projects, based on data disclosed by EITI Indonesia.
