The Financial Action Task Force is an international intergovernmental body/organization established in 1989. The FATF sets standards and promotes legal and operational measures aimed at combating money laundering, terrorist financing, and financing the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, as well as other threats related to the integration of the international financial system.

Officially, Indonesia was designated as the 40th full member of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) at the FATF plenary meeting on October 27, 2023, in Paris, France.
