Jakarta, 23 Juli 2025 – Publish What You Pay (PWYP) Indonesia held an audience with the Directorate General of Law Enforcement (Gakkum) at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) on July 23, 2025. The meeting was led directly by Aryanto Nugroho, Coordinator of PWYP Indonesia, and received by Sahid Junaidi, Acting Secretary of the Directorate General (Sesditjen) Gakkum at the Ministry of ESDM.
Aryanto stated that this audience aimed to discuss efforts to strengthen governance in the ESDM sector, particularly in law enforcement aspects and opportunities for collaboration with civil society.
During the occasion, Sahid generally conveyed progress related to the institutional readiness of Ditjen Gakkum at the Ministry of ESDM, considering it is a new institution; the approaches used; priority programs; and synergies with other Law Enforcement Agencies (APH).
Sahid also expressed openness to any suggestions and inputs for Ditjen Gakkum at the Ministry of ESDM, including opening opportunities to build broader collaboration with various stakeholders such as civil society.
On one hand, PWYP Indonesia expressed support for every law enforcement effort in the ESDM sector, including support for collaborations that can be carried out.
At the end of the meeting, it was agreed to follow up with an audience to the Director General (Dirjen) of Gakkum at the Ministry of ESDM.
